homesession offers since 2007 an atypical artist-in-residence program, which consists in short-term residencies and a strong involvement within the local community.
homesession investigates the relation between artworks and their context: Invited-One-Day is a specific program developed in collaboration with spanish artists.
We aim at giving a support to the diffusion of emergent artists' works, through the webpage, the newsletter and social on-line & off-line networks.
You can apply to the residency or to the website artist selection. All the materials required are listed in these sections.
Invited-One-Day is a reinterpretation of the classic on-site works, tackling with the singular context of a private flat. This new programme is an experience led by an artist, who's litterally "invited one day" in a private flat.
On-site works put themselves out of their object. They make the context of their creation emerge. They give a new consideration on the environment where they've been conceived and shown. They finally give to this environment a leading role : what comes into sight is not the proper intervention but the whole place it's looking at.
Invited-One-Day stands for the dynamic links between the eye, the work, the environment and the artist. It can lead to an ephemeral work, a disposable intervention, an ordinary situation, a chaotic event, a documentation or an ambitious interface. But it always brings to light the interrelation existing between the objects, persons and spaces included in the "site". It is a situation and put its context into a situation. In this regard, Invited-One-Day aims at producing the conditions of a contextualization and adding new meanings to the space.
