homesession offers since 2007 an atypical artist-in-residence program, which consists in short-term residencies and a strong involvement within the local community.

homesession investigates the relation between artworks and their context: Invited-One-Day is a specific program developed in collaboration with spanish artists.

A contextual work
"The production of my work generally consists of two stages. First, the creation of clothes-objects, with foam and chips or polar textile, which are supposed to be worn by one or various persons (hoods and rings, 2006). Then, I usually intend to question these objects from different situations and contexts, such as a white screen, a flat, public spaces, streets... The selected sceneries have recently taken more importance. For example, I have conceived hoods in relation with specific places, defining the shape, dimensions, overall size and even color of the hoods according to the context of their exhibition."

The Hoods and Rings or the happy torture tools
The hoods and rings could be defined as a ready-to-wear soft object, mixing nonsense clothes, BDSM outfit, pure ornament, ironical fashion, props and even references to design syntax. Although their bright colors and their softness give them the aspect of huge, nice and sweet cuddly toys, they induce the loose of spatial and visual reference, freedom of movement and even identity, standing for torture tools. Their main effect is to compell, constrain, disable, force or even isolate the body. They could be considered as extensions for the body or even as "anti-prosthesis", as far as they threaten the individual integrity and they swallow the body, making emerge an hybrid and grotesque living object, replacing the person by a fluorescent, monstruous and creepy creature.

April 2008: residency at homesession
Delphine Pouillé was the 3rd homesession's resident. She developped a project based on her work on textile object and its insertion in urban contexts. It consisted in making a wearable object for 8 persons and realizing a video and photographic account of its insertion in two specific and selected places in Barcelona. Thanks again to those who have participated and helped us on this project.
