homesession offers since 2007 an atypical artist-in-residence program, which consists in short-term residencies and a strong involvement within the local community.
homesession investigates the relation between artworks and their context: Invited-One-Day is a specific program developed in collaboration with spanish artists.
We aim at giving a support to the diffusion of emergent artists' works, through the webpage, the newsletter and social on-line & off-line networks.
You can apply to the residency or to the website artist selection. All the materials required are listed in these sections.
Lives and works in Barcelona (Spain)
Chobey's works combine watercolour and pencil. Its works mix traditional and symoblic characters and details referring to computer interface. They often bring into play a turtle, that would symbolize for the artist an incarnation of permanency and an helpful presence to reach a personal destiny. Its representation in everyday life situations is a testimony of the japanese traditional figures' persistency, despite of the technological and social changes.
Chobey's creations are like windows or screens over a "second-life" reality. These drawing present us a personal vision of life mixed with common stories belonging to the collective memory. They stress the fact that the way you share the cultural myth about the "reality-beyond" refers always to intimacy.
